LOS ANGELES – One person was killed and three women were hospitalized Sunday in a multiple-vehicle crash in the Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles.
The crash was reported at 4:20 p.m. Sunday at 100 N. Chicago St., at First Street, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, Humphrey said. The deceased person’s name, age and gender were not released.
Paramedics took three women to a trauma center, including one with critical injuries and two in serious condition, he said. Firefighters had to use hydraulic tools to free one of the patients from the wreckage.
A fifth person reportedly fled the scene before firefighters arrived, Humphrey said.
