KINGSTON, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — No parent is prepared to learn their child has cancer, but here is Northwest Arkansas, one girl's battle becomes an invisible string connecting the region.

September marks childhood cancer awareness month, an international campaign honoring children and survivors impacted by the disease. Research shows advances in technology are increasing the five-year survival rate of kids battling pediatric cancer.

In Northwest Arkansas, the support for families and kids taking up the fight continues growing with the region.
