Victoria’s top cop has shared the latest details of the ongoing hunt for accused cop-killer Dezi Freeman, despite more than a month having passed since two police officers were gunned down in the regional town of Porepunkah.
Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim De Waart were gunned down on August 26 while carrying out a search warrant on the self-proclaimed sovereign citizen’s property.
The incident sparked a major search involving almost 500 police and assistance from the Australian Defence Force.
However authorities have been unable to track down the fugitive, who is known to be an experienced outdoorsman and has been described as a “doomsday prepper”.
