Muslim community blocked Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar highway while raising slogans. Police cleared the jam through lathi charge.

A controversy broke out in Maharashtra’s Ahilyanagar after “I love Mohammad” was written on the road with a rangoli design and a race was organised over it. Members of the Muslim community staged a protest and blocked the Pune–Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar highway.

When police reached the spot to clear the roadblock, protesters began pelting stones. The police then carried out a mild lathi-charge to disperse the crowd.

At present, police forces have been deployed in the area, and the person who made the rangoli has been arrested.
