Elon Musk’s company and social media platform X (formerly Twitter) have expressed deep concern over the recent Karnataka High Court order. In a post, X stated that following this order, police officials have been given the authority to arbitrarily issue instructions to remove content through a secret online portal.
The company said that this new arrangement has no legal basis and is not in accordance with Section 69A of the IT Act. The order goes against Supreme Court rulings and violates constitutional rights such as freedom of expression for Indians.
Musk’s company made it clear that it will appeal the Karnataka High Court order and fight to protect freedom of expression.
