FAYETTE COUNTY, Iowa – A collision between an auto and a mini bike Sunday sent a teenager to the hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol says it happened just after 3 pm at the intersection of West Sacramento Avenue and South Mill Street in Wadena.

The crash report says Rylee Joanne Chmelicek, 13 of Fairfax, was riding a Coleman mini bike east when Chmelicek failed to obey the posted stop sign and crashed into the 2021 Toyota automobile driven by Sandra Kay Butikofer, 68 of Manchester.

The State Patrol says Chmelicek was flown by helicopter to University of Iowa Hospitals for treatment. Butikofer was not hurt.

Wadena 1 st Responders, Wadena Fire Department, and Gundersen Air Ambulance assisted with this accident.
