CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Nearly 700 residents joined the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Kingston Yard on September 20, raising $130,000 for the Alzheimer's Association's programs.

Fundraising continues through the year, allowing more donations at alz.org/walk .

The top team, To Honor Tom, led by Justina Dunlap, raised over $10,000 in memory of her husband, Tom. Other leading teams include Team Dearborn, raising over $10,000, and Team Meth-Wick Community, raising over $7,000. Top Walker Theresa Hunt raised more than $5,000.

Over 7 million Americans live with Alzheimer's, including more than 62,000 in Iowa. The disease affects millions of victims and caregivers nationwide.
