CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A 9-year-old boy has died after a shooting outside of a convenience store in Pageland, and multiple people are in custody, according to the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office.

On Sunday, September 28, deputies responded to a shooting in the parking lot of a convenience store off of Highway 9 in Pageland. The incident resulted in the death of a 9-year-old boy from Pageland, officials confirmed.

It's unclear exactly where or when the shooting happened Sunday morning.

Over the course of the investigation, investigators, along with assistance from SLED, identified and took into custody multiple suspects believed to be involved.

Deputies said seven juveniles and four adults have been arrested and are being questioned at the Sheriff's Office,
