EVANSVILLE – Another well-traveled section of road is set to close because of the ongoing overhaul of the Lloyd Expressway.

Starting Tuesday, Cross Pointe Boulevard south of the Lloyd will shutter for about four days while crews install a new box culvert: the structure that allows water to run under the road.

Work should be complete by Oct. 4, the Indiana Department of Transportation said in a news release Friday.

That stretch houses several businesses, hotels, an apartment complex and restaurants, including the ever-packed Texas Roadhouse and Cracker Barrel. Drivers can access all of that from the south via Lincoln Avenue and Fuquay Road.
