New Delhi: Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur is confident that her team has a firm chance of lifting the World Cup. The women’s 50-over spectacle begins on September 30 with hosts India meeting Sri Lanka in the opener in Guwahati.
Harmanpreet has said that this optimism goes beyond home advantage as the team has depth and role clarity apart from a bundle of talent. The Indian skipper’s confidence stems from the fact that India recently defeated seven-time world champions Australia at home for the first time since 2007 in the build up to the World Cup commencing on Tuesday.
India gave a scare to formidable visitors while chasing a massive score of 413 in the series-deciding third ODI and the captain feels that India has the capability of coming up as the best side in the multinational tour
