(WKBN) - With this beautiful stretch of weather in store, it's the perfect time to wash your car.

The question is: how often should you do it? AAA says every two weeks because vehicles are constantly exposed to different environmental factors like bird poop, tree sap and insects.

That can do a number on the paint job and decrease your car's resale value.

Another factor is road salt. If you don't wash it off in the winter, it can become corrosive and cause problems with the brakes or steering mechanism.

Experts recommend you head to a car wash instead of washing your vehicle by hand to make sure the bottom of your car is getting a thorough rinse.
