GROVE CITY, Pa. (WKBN) - Pennsylvania State Police are still looking into a swatting incident that forced Grove City College into a lockdown Sunday evening.

Right around 4 p.m., police say a 911 call came into Grove City police for a report of a white male wearing a blue shirt with a gun in the library. Police determined the call to be a hoax, but it prompted an enormous response from police.

Grove City says authorities warned of a rash of swatting calls across the region, and law enforcement says they're a difficult case to pursue.

"It ties up manpower. It puts officers' lives at stake. That's one of the hardest things is the way the swatting comes in, generally they're cloaked somehow. Or it could be through AI. Or there's some sort of a program used where it's very difficult to track
