HOOLEHUA (HawaiiNewsNow) - On Friday, Molokai residents celebrated the grand opening of a new digital hub.

The Molokai Digital Hub located inside the Lanikeha Community Center will serve as a space for residents to access high-speed internet, technology, and workshops.

The center was created by the Molokai Homestead Farmers Alliance and offers free access to eight computers, printers, WiFi, and tech support.

Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke attended the ceremony, marking the launch of a brand new center that connects residents with free technology.

The goal is to give Molokai residents fast internet which can be difficult to access on the island, as well as various tools they need to connect, learn, and thrive in the digital world.
