PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) -- A Pennsylvania Representative is aiming to modernize the records of firearm sales in the Commonwealth with a new piece of legislation.
The bill, authored by Rep. Anthony Bellmon (D-Philadelphia), looks to require all licensed firearm importers, manufacturers and dealers to submit their records of sale to the state police electronically, rather than by mail. Bellmon argued that enhancing the ability of law enforcement agencies to determine the source of firearms used in crimes will provide better protection for communities across the Commonwealth.
