BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) - The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) has released an official press release following an incident that occurred Sunday evening involving a deputy and multiple teens.

BCSO announced it is conducting an Internal Affairs Investigation following the incident. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has been requested to conduct a parallel investigation of the incident for any possible criminal violations.

According to the release sent by BCSO, the off-duty deputy who was involved has been suspended without pay and has been relieved of his credentials, badge, Sheriff's Office-issued weapons and equipment by a Command Staff member who responded to the scene after receiving calls of a disturbance in a community on Hilton Head.
