COLUMBIA, S.C. (WBTV) - South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster rescinded the State of Emergency he declared ahead of Tropical Storm Imelda.

The order was canceled on Monday, Sept. 29, after being first , for the entirety of the state. At the time, Tropical Storm Imelda was forecast to hit the Carolinas, bringing with it heavy rain and flooding.

The storm’s track changed over the weekend, taking a hard right turn and removing the Carolinas from its direct path.

“We will continue to monitor this storm, but we are fortunate to have avoided its worst impacts,” McMaster wrote in a press release about the order. “Hurricane season is still upon us, and we will remain ready to respond to any storm that may threaten our state.”
