State officials are warning New Hampshire residents to be wary of job-seeking scams using the names of companies based in the Granite State.
Attorney General John M. Formella warns the scam begins when the job seeker receives an email or text which appears to be from a New Hampshire business.
The Attorney General’s Office said online scammers are “increasingly sophisticated” with their use of technology, and consumers should use caution when searching for jobs online.
The AG’s Office said jobseekers should consider the following when searching online for employment opportunities:
• If you receive a text or email regarding potential employment, don’t directly respond to the text or email even if it appears to be from a familiar company. Instead, independently find the company’s website
