Earlier this year, Ontario Education Minister Paul Calandra suggested removing elected trustees at local school boards, and he has already appointed supervisors to take over five of the province’s largest boards.
Calandra cites financial mismanagement as the reason behind his decision, and has warned the remaining school boards essentially to be on their best behaviour, or else they’re next.
