MATTHEWS, N.C. (WBTV) - The Matthews Police Department was searching for a missing elderly man last seen driving in the area of Mint Hill on Monday afternoon.

Matthews police said on Monday, Sept. 29 they were searching for 80-year-old Ralph Getz who was last seen around 4:30 p.m. driving a white 2012 Chevrolet Impala with a North Carolina license plate number FCX-2944 on Fairview Road in Mint Hill.

Around 10 p.m. on Monday night Matthew police said that Getz was found safe.

Police said Getz is 5-foot-6 and weighs approximately 160 pounds with grey hair and brown eyes.

Getz was last seen wearing a red shirt and dark colored pants. If you have any information on his whereabouts please call 704-847-5555.
