DES MOINES, Iowa — Attorney General Brenna Bird shared what she calls essential online safety tips for parents, teachers, and caregivers to protect children from online dangers.
"As a mom and a prosecutor, I know how important it is for parents to be aware of online dangers targeting their kids," Bird said. "It's valuable for parents to know what steps they can take to keep their kids safe, and to know they have support from my office."
Bird advised using phone and app settings to block location sharing and inappropriate content, impose screen time limits, and require permission for downloads or purchases. She also suggested restricting chat features to approved contacts only.
