Fire at TTC's Bloor-Yonge Station snarls morning commute

Toronto transit users who ride the TTC subway started Tuesday with a frustrating morning commute due to a fire.

Trains did not stop at Bloor-Yonge Station due to a fire — which TTC officials first alerted the public to around 5:30 a.m. — until about 7:15 a.m.

Shuttle buses were put in use between Rosedale and Wellesley stations but did not stop at Bloor-Yonge Station while the station was closed as the fire was extinguished and the smoke was cleared.
