MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - Republican state lawmakers are introducing a bill to legalize medical marijuana, after previous attempts have failed.
This latest bill requires patients to have a doctor’s diagnosis of a serious medical condition, like cancer.
They then must register with a new Office of Medical Cannabis Regulation. That office would oversee licensing for cannabis growers, processors and testers.
The bill would also allow patients to ingest medicinal marijuana through oils, tinctures, edibles and vapors but they could not smoke it.
