VALPARAISO — A 35-year-old Michigan City man faces up to three years behind bars if his proposed plea agreement is accepted in a child sex case, records show.
Daniel Strauss, who pleaded guilty to one count each of child solicitation and possessing child pornography, is to be sentenced Wednesday morning if the proposed plea is accepted by Porter Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Clymer.
Clymer had in July rejected an earlier plea in the case.
The current plea calls for prosecutors to drop a few charges and cap the potential sentence at three years behind bars. Strauss will be required to register as a sex offender and comply with those strict regulations if the proposed plea agreement is accepted.
