Two men were arrested over the past few days on allegations of public indecency in separate cases from East Chicago and Portage, records show.

The first case came early Sunday when an East Chicago police officer noticed a partially nude man in the alley behind 4100 Grand Boulevard.

The man, an East Chicago resident, who is not being named because he had not been charged as of Tuesday morning, was wearing just a small pink jock strap with his buttocks and genitals visible, police said. He was also allegedly engaged in inappropriate conduct, police said.

The officer recognized the man from prior contacts, including a previous arrest in June 2023 on allegations of indecent exposure at Washington Park, according to police.
