The accident happened at North Chennai Thermal Power Plant.

A portion of a slab fell from a height of 30 feet at the construction site of the Ennore Thermal Power Plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Tuesday evening. Nine workers were killed and one injured.

According to police, a high-rise iron structure was being constructed, and a portion of it fell on the workers standing below. The injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital. The cause of the slab collapse is being investigated.

Dr. J. Radhakrishnan, Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO), visited the injured at the hospital.
