KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Gov. Mike Kehoe announced on Tuesday morning that he has authorized the Missouri National Guard to assist with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations at several facilities across the state.
Service members will begin operations on Oct. 1, assisting ICE with administrative, clerical and logistical duties, such as data entry, case management and logistical support.
According to Gov. Kehoe's office, this will allow ICE to focus on core enforcement and security functions.
“Public safety, keeping Missourians safe, and upholding the rule of law is our administration's top priority. The Missouri National Guard is uniquely equipped to provide this essential administrative support, and we are confident their contributions will be invaluable to immigration enforc
