BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A new mural with a powerful message is now on display in north Baton Rouge.

The Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center unveiled the mural outside the historic Cosey’s Barbershop on Plank Road during a news conference on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

The mural is designed to spark important conversations about clinical trials and cancer research.

Officials say the artwork is a visual reminder that everyone—regardless of race, ethnicity, or background—deserves equal access to life-saving clinical trials.

The Walls Project commissioned the large-scale mural, which serves as both an educational tool and a symbol of inclusion.

California-based artist Venazir Martinez painted the mural.
