Starbucks has closed its second Schererville location just a year after it opened.
The Seattle-based coffee giant is closing more than 430 stores nationwide as part of a $1 billion restructuring. The company announced last week it would lay off 900 workers and close 1% of its locations and would end the month with 18,300 stores as it looks to improve its financial performance.
Starbucks is closing at least two Indiana stores, one in Greenfield in suburban Indianapolis and the Schererville location at the Crossroads of the Nation intersection. Both recently opened.
Starbucks had opened its second Schererville location at 1906 U.S. 41 in a newly constructed strip mall at the intersection of Indianapolis Boulevard and U.S. 30.
