DILLON, S.C. — A Dillon County man has been charged with inflicting great bodily injury on a child following an investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
Officials said Jamison Antwan Jones, 34, was the sole caregiver of a two-month-old infant when the child suffered multiple severe injuries. Medical staff reported the child sustained several fractures, a subdural hematoma, a torn upper frenulum, and retinal damage. SLED investigators determined the infant was placed “at substantial risk of death.”
Jones was arrested Tuesday, September 30, and booked into the Dillon County Detention Center.
The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office requested SLED’s involvement in the case. The case will be prosecuted by the 4th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
