Our Center, Northern Nevada's LGBTQ+ nonprofit organization, announced on Monday, Sept. 29 that it would lose over $1 million in federal grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The organization received a letter from the Nevada Bureau of Behavioral Health, Wellness, and Prevention on Sept. 25 that said due to new rules and guidelines from the Trump administration, no state or federal dollars would be dedicated to their work.

"The Bureau understands the impact this decision may have on your agency and are truly sorry for the disruption that the unexpected loss of funding may cause," the letter said. "Your work is valued, and every effort will continue to be made to find new alternatives."
