NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - As the nation counts down to its 250th birthday next July, we’re taking a closer look at the history rooted in our own backyard and what makes us uniquely American.

At first glance, North Augusta’s municipal building might look like a simple place to pay bills or pass by on the way to SRP Park.

But step inside, and you’ll find something unexpected: a cultural space filled with local art, history and stories that connect directly to America’s fight for independence.
