AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - For more than a century, Hotel Aiken has stood on Richland Avenue West.

The historic building has since fallen into disrepair, closing its doors to guests years ago.

After years of debates over demolition and uncertainty about its future, Aiken leaders are now committed to revitalization. The next step: hearing from the community on what changes should take place and making them a reality.

“Our bread and butter is historic preservation and bringing old hotels back to life,” says Craig Bradford, Senior Vice President of Development for Oliver Hospitality.“We’re working very closely with the historic foundation here in town. I’ve already made changes to the design based on early conversations with them.”
