PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III was not in a sling on Tuesday just two days after suffering a shoulder injury that forced him to go the hospital. Scotty Miller replaced Austin on offense.
That is one update that could be a positive sign for Austin, who is reportedly still expected to miss a good deal of time with the injury.
Austin landed hard on his shoulder after a catch, and had his arm in a sling. Head coach Mike Tomlin said after the game he went to the hospital.
“Calvin Austin’s got a shoulder. I think he’s at the hospital being evaluated,” Tomlin said.
Austin has dealt with a few injuries this year, and missed nearly a month with an oblique injury during training camp that allowed others, such as Miller, to get reps with Aaron Rodgers.
