TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - At 9 a.m. on Wednesday, the Tallahassee City Commission will hold one of two critical meetings about the city’s only nonprofit hospital.
A memo between Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare and Florida State University is clearly trying to ease concerns of a “state takeover,” as TMH would retain a one-seat majority on the board.
But faith leaders like Rev. Dr. RB Holmes say Tallahassee’s other university, and its state college, have been left out of the proposed merger .
“The question ought to be, how do you go from saying it’s a hostile takeover to a happy crossover? With two seats for FAMU University, one for Apalachee Center and one for Tallahassee State College,” he said.
