ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - There’s a new way for Atlanta students to get the help and support they need, right from their phone.

This year, Atlanta Public Schools released ‘Talk It Out.’ It’s an easy way for students to confidentially connect with a licensed counselor any time they need to talk.

Navigating being a teenager is hard. Doing it with social media playing such a big role is even harder.

“Social media can be a source of a lot of negativity that can be the fuel to the fire of a lot of mental health crises. ‘Talk It Out’ is really the alternative,” Laila Shannon, a senior at Drew Charter School, said. “How are we using this technology for good?”
