ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Perinton man is facing charges after deputies say he attacked two construction workers with a "blunt object" Tuesday morning.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 8:30 a.m. to the area of Mosely Road and High Gate Trail for a report of a possible assault. When they arrived, they found an individual with injuries who was transported to a local hospital.

Investigators said a man approached a construction crew working in a nearby parking lot and struck two workers. Deputies later located the suspect down the road and took him into custody.

The suspect was identified as 26-year-old John Woods of Perinton. Both Woods and one of the victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. The sheriff’s office said the injuries do not appear
