CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - The Montgomery Museum of Art and History doesn’t just share stories within it’s walls, the building itself is historic.

It’s seen better days, and now museum staff is asking for your help to get it fixed up.

Small pieces of art fill the vault safety deposit boxes, and books line the teller counter of the former Bank of Christiansburg building, which has been around since 1964.

Although the art and books are new additions to the bank’s charm, one thing that only changed recently since it’s cash-exchanging days is the HVAC system.

“This was not good for preserving our collection, it was frankly not a comfortable space for people to come visit,” said Grace Atallah, Collections and Communications Coordinator for the museum.
