MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - A troubled Rutland-based nursing home group has a new state-appointed operator after more allegations of patient abuse.

Our House operates three nursing homes across Rutland, with 35 total beds. The Vermont Attorney General’s Office this spring applied to take over management of its facilities. At the same time, the Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living was investigating claims of staff abusing residents.

Our House went into receivership back in 2022 after a settlement with the attorney general for not properly training staff and monitoring services.
