CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - Mayor Kahlil Seren used his last fay in office to fire the Cleveland Heights law director on Tuesday.

According to a release from the city, Seren fired Law Director William Hanna.

In the termination letter, Seren cites, among other things, Hanna’s choice to remain silent as the Cleveland Heights City Council launched an “accusation campaign” against Seren.

“Instead, your response was to remain silent and allow a series of baseless and ill-informed attacks to unfold from members of the Council against me [Seren], and, by extension, the City as an employer,” the termination letter stated.

Seren also said Hanna reported members of city council to Seren and breached lawyer-client confidentially.
