CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers arrested a child for riding his bicycle "in a manner that poses a danger to themselves or others," Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
The arrest was recorded and posted on TikTok on Monday, Sept. 29.
In the video, an officer had handcuffed the minor's hands behind his back and put him in the back of a cruiser.
When people nearby ask why the boy was arrested, another officer says, "reckless driving."
The officer clarifies that the boy did not hit any cars while riding his bike. When asked why the he wasn't given a warning, the officer said, "That's not how it works."
