BILLINGS, Mont. – The Trump administration announced that all branded and patented drugs will face a 100% tariff unless certain criteria are met by pharmaceutical companies. This move could lead to higher drug prices for consumers and challenges for pharmacies.
According to the FDA, 90% of prescriptions in the U.S. are for generic drugs , which this tariff would not affect. However, individuals relying on name-brand medications may face higher costs.
Kyle Austin, owner of Pharm 406, highlighted the potential impact on consumers.
