LOUISA CO., Iowa (KWQC) - A person is in custody in connection with shooting threats against churches and schools, the Louisa County Sheriff said.

Louisa County schools were placed on a “soft” lockdown on Friday after shooting threats were made by an out-of-state person with local ties, the sheriff said.

The person was located in North Carolina on Friday, and the person returned to Louisa County on Saturday, the sheriff said.

After being taken into custody, the sheriff said a mental health commitment was started. They are not releasing the name.
