FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The man accused of shooting and killing Gwinnett County Master Deputy Tamara Tuitt-Bartlett faced a judge for the first time Tuesday, as new details surface about a troubling history of domestic violence and prior threats.

Eric Sumner appeared before a Forsyth County judge who read aloud the charges: two counts of felony murder and aggravated assault. The charges stem from Saturday night, when investigators said that Sumner shot and killed Tuitt-Bartlett during an argument in her Suwanee home , and also shot her teenage son.

She was discovered dead after her son showed up at a neighbor's house, bleeding, telling them his mom and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument and the boyfriend began firing a gun.
