MOUNT WASHINGTON, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The nearly 100-year-old Becker Pond Dam in the Mount Plantain Preserve will be removed beginning in November.

Closed to the public since 2016, it was deemed a public safety concern for both humans and wildlife after continuing to fail.

Now, the 95-foot embankment will be turned into a new, improved walking trail for safer preserve access.

A free, public webinar will be held next Thursday, October 8 for more information. If you would like to sign up, you can click HERE .
