BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Firefighters put out a fire at a Fazoli’s restaurant in Battle Creek Tuesday afternoon.

It was around 3:30 p.m. when fire broke out at Fazoli’s on Beckley Road near Riverside Drive, according to the Battle Creek Fire Department. Crews arrived in under three minutes, finding flames near the front of the restaurant. They opened the wall to put them out and found that the fire had spread up the wall into the attic, the department said.

A hose line was stretched to knock down most of the fire and crews were able to control the flames within 10 minutes.

No one was injured in the fire. The building’s entrance was damaged.

The flames were likely sparked by “careless discarding of smoking materials,” according to the Battle Creek fire marshal.
