For most of the last two weeks, Kobe Hunt was in the midst of the most awe-inspiring chapter of his young career.
Once it was over, he walked away immensely proud but with a vague sense of frustration.
Late last month, the 20-year-old represented Australia at the IBA Oceania Championships held in Tahiti.
He made the trip aiming for a gold medal. However, two serious roadblocks stood in his way.
The first was David Ome, who Hunt fought and lost a gritty decision to in the Kokoda Cup earlier this year.
"I remember calling my mum and just saying 'Whatever happens in this next fight, I feel like I've won'," Hunt said of his victory over Ome.
"I've redeemed myself and avenged that loss."
