Voluntary Recall Impacts Select Lots Sold Nationwide at Target, Kroger, and CVS

Tru Fru, LLC said Monday that a voluntary recall has been issued for certain varieties of its freeze-dried strawberry snacks after a consumer report suggested the possible presence of metal fragments in the product.

The recall, carried out by third-party manufacturer Georgia Nut Company, affects specific lots of Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries in Dark & White Chocolate and Tru Fru Freeze Dried Strawberries & Crème. While no injuries or illnesses have been reported, the company warned that ingestion of hard or sharp foreign material could cause serious harm, including lacerations or perforations of the mouth, throat, or digestive tract, as well as damage to teeth and gums.
