Canterbury football manager Phil Gould has spent the past 48 hours in hospital with a serious heart concern.

The NRL icon has been undergoing tests since Monday night, when he was absent from his regular spot on a rugby league TV show.

Bulldogs officials are unsure when the 67-year-old will be discharged from hospital, saying he will remain there until required.

Gould has continued to work from his hospital bed.

His Channel 9 colleague Danny Weidler said he “has some significant health concerns”.

“Big couple of days for Gus,” Weidler said on social media.

“Spoke to him a short time ago and wishing him good health.”

Gould is a notoriously active social media user and has continued to post on X while in hospital.
