New Delhi: Tata Motors have taken the second place in September 2025 retail sales, going past both Mahindra & Mahindra and Hyundai Motor India, with a total sale of 40,954 units according to Vahan data for the month. The September figures exclude data from Telangana, though they show Tata Motors have made a good dent in general, with Mahindra & Mahindra selling 37,015 units and Hyundai Motor India’s 35,443 units.

It comes at a time when the race for second place in auto is becoming much more cutthroat. In terms of wholesale, Tata Motors haven’t given any figures about the shipments. Mahindra had some good dispatches with the company making a record in terms of wholesale of over 56,000 units, much of it due to the pile-up demand from August itself.
