JACKSON, MI — Two new apartment buildings are nearing completion in Jackson and now leasing.

Ohio-based company Pivotal began construction on The Blackstone, 209 N. Blackstone St., and The Greenwood, 702 Greenwood Ave., in January 2024.

Construction should complete within the next month, City Grant Administrator Cory Mays said Sept. 11. They are spacious units with open-concept kitchens and natural lighting, he said.

“These are just two more fantastic units that are not only filling some vacant space, but bringing much needed housing to downtown,” Mays said. “They just look beautiful, built well and complement the neighborhoods great.”

The Blackstone is a four-story, 53-unit housing building, while The Greenwood is a three-story housing development with 51 units. Both are income-based
